Adam Young Responds to Taylor's Love Song

It looks like Taylor Swift’s personal “Love Story” will have a happy ending -- just in time for Valentine’s Day.
The country singer, known for penning songs about her troubled past relationships, hasn’t tried to hide the fact that the sweeping romantic ballad “Enchanted” on her last album Speak Now describes her unrealized crush on Owl City’s Adam Young.

“It was about this guy that I met in New York City, and I had talked to him on email or something before, but I had never met him,” she told Yahoo! Music last year. “And meeting him, it was this overwhelming feeling of: I really hope that you're not in love with somebody.”

She added that she purposely included the word “wonderstruck” in the lyrics because the subject of the song had used it in one of their email exchanges. To clear any lingering doubt about the mystery man’s identity, she capitalized the letters A-D-A-M in the album’s lyric booklet.

On Saturday, Young finally responded to Swift’s public serenade. Addressing the singer on Owl City's website, Young confessed that he too felt sparks fly when they first met.

“I'll be the first to admit I'm a rather shy boy and since music is the most eloquent form of communication I can muster, I decided to record something for you--a sort of a 'reply' to the breathtaking song on your current record,” he wrote. “You are a true princess from a dreamy fairy tale, and above all, I just want you to know...I was enchanted to meet you too.”

His recording of “Enchanted” carries Owl City’s jazzy, fanciful signature and includes a few lyric tweaks, as well as a new verse at the end: “I was never in love with someone else / I never had somebody waiting on me / 'Cause you were all of my dreams come true / And I just wish you knew / Taylor I was so in love with you.”

The verse is a direct response to Swift’s original lyrics, “Please don’t be in love with someone else / Please don’t have somebody waiting on you.”

Why Taylor Writes Songs

"Throughout all of the changes that have happened in my life, one of the priorities I've had is to never change the way I write songs and the reasons I write songs. I write songs to help me understand life a little more. I write songs to get past things that cause me pain. And I write songs because sometimes life makes more sense to me when it's being sung in a chorus, and when I can write it in a verse."

Taylor Swift is the Victim

"I've apparently been the victim of growing up, which apparently happens to all of us at one point or another. It's been going on for quite some time now, without me knowing it. I've found that growing up can mean a lot of things. For me, it doesn't mean I should become somebody completely new and stop loving the things I used to love. It means I've just added more things to my list."

Taylor reminds us to be careful when we SPEAK NOW!

"Words can break someone into a million pieces, but they can also put them back together. I hope you use yours for good, because the only words you'll regret more than the ones left unsaid are the ones you use to intentionally hurt someone."

Taylor Moved to Tears!!

THERE is one thing concert-goers took away from American country sweetheart Taylor Swift's maiden Singapore gig: The gal can sing.

The 21-year-old has been plagued by talk that her voice wasn't up to scratch, after critics blasted her Grammy performance last year.
But on Wednesday night, her vocals were near pitch-perfect throughout the 95min show, save for a moment where she faltered on the ballad, Enchanted.
One must say that her voice shone particularly bright on Dear John - that tirade supposedly written for her former boyfriend, John Mayer.
Midway through her show, Swift gave her fans what is known in showbiz as a moment - when she made her way towards the back of the stadium, and settled down on a makeshift stage.
There, she serenaded her audience with a thrilling, three-song acoustic set with her guitar (and a ukelele in the case of her 2008 hit, Fearless, which she presented as a mash-up with Jason Mraz smash hit I'm Yours).
The Grammy-winning singer - who first garnered mainstream attention with Teardrops On My Guitar, from her self-titled 2006 debut - looked gobsmacked, too, at the outpouring of adoration that greeted her at the Indoor Stadium.
Fans held up home-made signs declaring their love for Swift. And the audience - made up mostly of teens and tweens, parents in tow - let out unrelenting screams of her name.
The songstress, here in support of her latest album, Speak Now, sometimes looked teary-eyed in the face of it all.
But for most part, she gave as good as she got.
She strutted across the two-tier stage like a seasoned pro, flipping her hair and swirling her hips.
But for all the theatrics, Swift came across as humble.
At the end of her show, she introduced her band before saying: "Singapore, you have been wonderful to us. We will never forget you, and we will never stop loving you."
Judging by the smile on her face and the sincerity in her voice, she might have meant it, with all her heart.

What type of legacy are you leaving behind

"No matter what happens in life, be good to people. Being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind."
Taylor Swift

Speak Now

"Real life is a funny thing you know.
In real life saying the right thing, at the right moment is beyond crucial.
So crucial in fact, that most of us start to hesitate, for fear of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.
But lately what I’ve began to fear more than that, is letting the moment pass with saying anything.
I think you deserved to look back on your life without this chorus of resounding voices saying, I could of but it’s too late now.
So there’s a time for silent, and there a time for waiting your turn. But if you know how you feel, and you so clearly know what you need to say.
You’ll know it.
I don’t think you should wait.
I think you should speak now."

Peter Max Unveils Taylor Portrait

Peter Max Speak Now
World-renowned pop artist Peter Max has painted a new portrait of Taylor Swift to commemorate her newest album, Speak Now, which was certified Triple-Platinum by the RIAA this week. And next week, Max’s iconic portraiture of 4-time Grammy winner Swift will be available to the public for the first time.

The Speak Now portrait is Max’s second time to immortalize Taylor’s album art -- he unveiled a series of four portraits of her Fearless album earlier this year in a series of gallery showings. Max has gifted his first Fearless original work to Taylor, but now the Max portraits, from both Fearless and Speak Now, are available as poster artwork and as commissioned originals. Starting Sunday (December 12th) Max’s Taylor Swift works will be sold exclusively in the
TaylorSwift.com Online Store.

The Max / Swift relationship began when Max painted a portrait of Taylor’s Fearless album cover upon learning that Taylor was launching her 2010 Fearless tour in Tampa the same week that he had a gallery showing there. “I've been doing portraits of iconic musicians for so many years, and it is a pleasure to add Taylor Swift to the collection,” says Max. “She is one of the most beautiful and talented stars we have today.”

Taylor was thrilled when she learned of Max’s interest in doing the portrait, as she is a lifelong fan of his, having often seen his work on display in the Ocean Gallery in Stone Harbor, New Jersey. Swift remembered walking past the gallery window many times as a child and young teen, and was often stopped in her tracks by the vibrancy of Max’s works.

Max’s Fearless portraits have been featured in several gallery exhibitions, but were not available for sale. His Speak Now portrait has not been shown prior to today.

With paintings on exhibition in hundreds of museums and galleries worldwide, Peter Max and his vibrant colors have become part of the fabric of contemporary culture. Max has been successively called a Pop Icon, Neo Fauvist, Abstract Expressionist and the United States’ "Painter Laureate."

Max has a long-standing career as the preeminent Pop artist in America, and is the country’s most well known and most collected artist. He has achieved his place in history having painted for various Heads of State. Often incorporating iconic symbols of America into his work, Max has painted for six U.S. presidents, created the official artwork and poster for the Clinton Inauguration, his "Flag With Heart" impressionistic paintings of the American flag are in permanent installations in the Carter, Reagan and Bush presidential libraries in addition to his statue of Liberty paintings, which have become an annual painting tradition since America's Bicentennial, in 1976 and led to Max playing a lead role in the renovation of the Statue of Liberty. From art that appeared on the first U.S. 10-cent stamp bearing the title “Preserve the Environment,” to 235 U.S. Border murals greeting millions of people entering America each year

Good Girl

"It's never been about trying to look well-behaved. It's just how I am. I guess it's a weird thing to be 19 and not ever have been drunk, but for me, it just feels normal because I don't really know any other way. I don't know if I'd be comfortable getting wasted and not knowing what I've said. That doesn't mean when I'm older I won't have a glass of wine. I just don't think it's such a strange thing for me not to be wasted all the time."
-Taylor Swift

I think we should all folow Taylor's example!!

Do you believe in Fairytales?

"When I was a little girl I used to read fairy tales. In fairy tales you meet Prince Charming and he's everything you ever wanted. In fairy tales the bad guy is very easy to spot. The bad guy is always wearing a black cape so you always know who he is. Then you grow up and you realize that Prince Charming is not as easy to find as you thought. You realize the bad guy is not wearing a black cape and he's not easy to spot; he's really funny, and he makes you laugh, and he has perfect hair."
